The Arbor is a unique gathering for women at Gospel City Church. For its second gathering, the content took the theme of Biblical hospitality. All aspects of the gathering including branding, environment, and programming sought to clarify hospitality as an act that is imperfect, but meaningful. In the midst of real life circumstances, our homes, our activities, and our lives don't compare to the magazines, shows, and influence we typically see around us. The goal of this gathering was to counter the idea that our lives and our homes need to look perfect. What matters is what our hospitality is centered around.

Cultural Statement
–––
An arbor is placed at the entrance to a garden. It’s what the plants cling to for support, growth, and purpose. It’s a framework for them to exist by. The arbor is a framework for life to cling to. It's patterns of growth are intricate and delicate. The center of the arbor is a doorway that gives access to the garden where there, the beauty thrives.

The arbor is an invitation for all to come and experience the beauty that awaits.

live event + production

The goal of every Arbor is to create a space where women feel seen, known, and loved. Following the theme of Biblical hospitality, the goal with the environment was to create an interactive space where women could relate to one another. A kitchen space was created where women could taste, learn, and share new recipes. A living room space was crafted with personal touches like family photos where board games were provided to encourage fun and engagement. Finally, a dining table and chandelier were centered in the space where all nine enneagram descriptions were on display. With this at the center of the space, the intentionality here was to communicate relationships being the foundation of healthy hospitality.
